The menu at Court Street Grille is wonderfully diverse, featuring everything from expertly crafted sandwiches and classic Italian dishes to fresh pizzas, crisp salads, and flavorful wraps. What truly sets them apart is their commitment to freshness and homemade quality. Adding a sweet touch to the experience, the owner’s mother lovingly bakes homemade cakes daily – a treat that often disappears quickly, especially at lunchtime. Arriving early to snag a slice is highly recommended!
For my visit, I opted for the Italian Sandwich platter, a popular choice that exemplifies Court Street Grille’s dedication to flavor and presentation. Their sandwiches are thoughtfully wrapped in foil and served warm, creating a comforting and satisfying experience from the first bite. As you can see from the cross-section, the Italian sandwich is generously filled with layers of ham, mortadella, cheese, crisp lettuce, and ripe tomato, all brought together with a flavorful dressing. (On this occasion, I chose to skip the tomatoes).

The platters are a complete meal, accompanied by a generous serving of crispy french fries, perfectly seasoned with seasoned salt, and a refreshing small side salad. For the salad, you have a choice of mesclun mix, classic iceberg lettuce, or a delightful mix, with the mix being my personal favorite. Their dressings, particularly the house Italian and Ranch, are also homemade, adding another layer of freshness. The salads come topped with tomatoes and a substantial amount of cheese – perhaps a bit too much cheese for the lettuce for my personal preference, though I might be in the minority there.
Court Street Grille boasts a flavorful array of sandwich options. Among my personal favorites are the buffalo chicken wrap, packed with zesty flavor, and the chicken sandwich featuring the owner Osama’s signature seasoned chicken – a truly unique taste. All sandwiches are served “dressed” in the same satisfying manner as the Italian. The staff is also incredibly accommodating; they happily made a special “pizza sub” for my daughter, filled with pepperoni, cheese, and sauce, even though it wasn’t officially on the menu.
Kid-friendly Chicken Fingers appetizer at Court Street Grille
For families dining with picky eaters, the chicken fingers from the appetizer menu are a reliable and satisfying choice. While they are a simple offering, you can see flecks of pepper in the breading, indicating a touch of homemade flair that elevates them above typical kids’ fare. My son thoroughly enjoyed them!
Pizza is another highlight at Court Street Grille, available on both the kids’ and adult menus. Served piping hot, the pizza is wonderfully cheesy and flavorful. While it remains enjoyable as it cools, it’s at its absolute best when fresh from the oven.

Beyond sandwiches and pizza, Court Street Grille also offers a selection of classic Italian entrees like lasagna, spaghetti, and manicotti. These dishes are consistently good and are served complete with a side salad and grilled garlic bread, making for a hearty and satisfying Italian meal.
The service at Court Street Grille is consistently quick and efficient, and the owner is known for being exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is arguably the best in Lincolnton, characterized by beautifully buffed hardwood floors, exposed air ductwork lending an urban-chic touch, large picture windows that flood the space with natural light, and tasteful plant accents. Its prime location near the courthouse adds to the overall appeal. The only minor drawback is parking. Finding a spot directly in front can feel like winning the lottery, as it’s almost always packed, regardless of the time of day.
However, even if you need to walk a short distance, the experience at Court Street Grille is undoubtedly worth it. From the fresh, homemade food and diverse menu to the friendly service and inviting atmosphere, Court Street Grille stands out as a must-visit restaurant in Lincolnton.
