The Village of Prairie du Sac is set to enhance community infrastructure with significant street and utility projects slated for 2025. Approved by the Board of Trustees on November 26, 2024, these initiatives focus on crucial areas, including 1st Street and Sauk Prairie Road, promising improved infrastructure for residents.
Starting in Spring 2025 and expected to continue through Fall 2025, the project on 1st Street Sac Street will be a full reconstruction from Grand Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. This extensive overhaul includes not only repaving the street but also revamping parking areas and adding a new sidewalk on the west side. Critically, the project addresses essential utility upgrades, featuring water main up sizing and service replacement, alongside a new storm sewer system installation from Grand Avenue to Lincoln Avenue, and targeted sanitary repairs.
Further enhancing Prairie du Sac’s infrastructure, the Sauk Prairie Road Urbanization project will concentrate on the north half of Sauk Prairie Road adjacent to Culver Park. This sac street undertaking will modernize the area with the addition of curb and gutter, roadway widening to improve traffic flow including a dedicated turn bay, and the construction of a new sidewalk. Storm water management improvements are also a key component of this phase, ensuring better drainage and environmental resilience in the area.

Two Public Involvement Meetings (PIM) were conducted on January 14, 2025, and February 25, 2025, allowing residents to learn more and provide feedback.
