After a long workday, the quest for the perfect spot to unwind with friends led us to B Street & Vine in San Mateo. Conveniently located as a midpoint for our group, the promise of diverse bruschetta options sealed the deal. We were eager to explore what this local eatery had to offer.

One of the great conveniences of B Street & Vine is their reservation system, even for smaller groups. Securing a table for three was effortless, and upon arriving between 6 and 7 PM, we found the restaurant comfortablyOccupied without being overly crowded. Parking was also a breeze thanks to a nearby garage. While B Street & Vine boasts an inviting outdoor patio, we opted for indoor seating. Though slightly regretting missing the summer evening air, it simply gives us another reason to return and experience their outdoor ambiance.
While our primary mission was to indulge in their acclaimed bruschetta, we decided to sample a couple of other items to share. We chose the Raspberry Chicken Salad, a vibrant mix of chicken, pecans, pears, gorgonzola, tomato, and avocado, dressed with a light fat-free raspberry vinaigrette and served over fresh greens. While the salad was refreshing, in hindsight, we agreed that focusing on the bruschetta and other main entrees might be the way to go, purely because the bruschetta were so satisfying and we were quite full afterwards.
Now, for the star attraction: the bruschetta! B Street & Vine offers a set of four bruschetta toasts, with prices ranging from $15 to $19 depending on your selections. Premium toppings and gluten-free options are available, which may slightly increase the price, but overall, it’s excellent value for the quality and taste. From our top-to-bottom arrangement, we savored the Brie with Apples, a delightful combination of creamy and crisp; the Hummus, Tomato, and Avocado, a classic Mediterranean-inspired choice; the Salmon, Chives, Capers, and Mascarpone, offering a rich and savory profile; and the Mango, Tomato, and Avocado, a refreshing and buttery fusion. Personal favorites emerged as the Brie and Apple, with its perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the Mango, Tomato, and Avocado, which was incredibly refreshing and creamy.
Adding to our shared plates, we also ordered a grilled cheese panini, catering to a friend’s hearty appetite. This panini did not disappoint; it was perfectly grilled, boasting a satisfying crispness and filled with wonderfully melted, gooey cheese.
