Austin’s beloved pizzeria, Home Slice, famous for its authentic New York-style pizza, has officially opened its doors at its new North Loop location today at 501 East 53rd Street. This highly anticipated opening introduces exciting additions to the Home Slice experience, including Sicilian square pies, flavorful buffalo chicken wings, and a comprehensive full bar serving handcrafted cocktails. For the initial two weeks, the East 53rd Street establishment will operate with limited service and seating as the team refines operations at this new venue.
Consistent with its original South Congress location, Home Slice North Loop offers a menu featuring New York-style pizza available by the slice or as a whole pie. Customers can also enjoy a selection of sandwiches, fresh salads, and delectable cookies, with options for both dine-in and convenient takeout services.
The newly constructed pizzeria on 53rd Street boasts a significantly larger space compared to its South Congress counterpart. The expanded venue includes a welcoming patio, indoor and outdoor bar areas, and a variety of seating options ranging from comfortable booths to banquette seating. To enhance customer convenience, a dedicated takeout counter is readily available.
A notable first for Home Slice, the North Loop location features a full-service bar. The bar menu showcases signature cocktails such as the Soul Fashioned, Negroni Danza, and It’s Aperol Good, alongside a curated selection of local draft beers, Italian Peroni, and Italian wines.
Home Slice North Loop welcomes guests from 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The announcement of the North Loop expansion of Home Slice dates back to the fall of 2015. The property at 53rd Street was previously occupied by Melvin’s Deli Comfort, a sandwich trailer that closed in April 2015. Home Slice’s original location on South Congress was established in 2005 by co-owners Jen Strickland, Joseph Strickland, and Terri Hannifin, marking the beginning of their Austin pizza journey.
