Founded in 1985 by the visionary restaurateur Bill Waugh, Burger Street is the latest success in a remarkable career that includes iconic establishments like Casa Bonita, Taco Bueno, and Crystal’s Pizza. Bill Waugh’s commitment to the restaurant industry is evident in his past ventures, notably Casa Bonita in Denver, which stood as the world’s largest Mexican restaurant, serving over a million customers annually. After selling his restaurant chains in 1981, Bill Waugh returned to his passion, creating Burger Street with a focus on simple, high-quality ingredients and delicious flavors.
The Burger Street journey began in Lewisville, Texas, with a focus on delivering exceptional value, starting with a 99-cent 1/5 pound hamburger. In 1999, reflecting our ongoing commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we upgraded our signature burger to a generous 1/3 pound.
