I am incredibly excited to share some significant news with you all regarding a project my team and I have been passionately developing since our last daytime show taping this past spring. I truly hope you are as thrilled as I am to announce my return to television with a brand-new series of original episodes. These will air nightly in prime time on our very own network, MERIT STREET MEDIA. “Dr. Phil Primetime” is scheduled to premiere on Monday, February 26th, 2024, and will broadcast every evening at 8 PM Eastern Time.
The name of our new venture, Merit Street Media, carries a deep and personal meaning. I chose “Merit” to celebrate the meritocracy that is fundamental to the principles of our amazing country. And “Street” is meant to represent “Main Street” America – the heartland, the everyday people. Our new headquarters is based in the thriving Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where a state-of-the-art broadcast center, spanning over five acres, is nearing completion. I am proud to say that many dedicated members of the “Dr. Phil” team have joined me in this transition, relocating with their families to Texas. This allows us to continue our work together, alongside all of you watching at home.
“Dr. Phil Primetime” will uphold the core values and format that you have come to expect. I remain committed to providing common-sense advice to our guests, grounded in evidence-based research, scientific principles, and methods that are tried, tested, and proven – yes, facts! Remember those? Practical, actionable information that you can apply to your lives every single day. It’s crucial to understand that this isn’t just my show; it’s our show. This isn’t just my network; it’s our network, Merit Street Media. I reaffirm my pledge to dedicate this platform to the topics and issues that are important to you, what you want and need to see and hear. Absolutely nothing is off the table. If it matters to you, it matters to us at Merit Street.
I am eager to delve into the pressing issues that concern you most. From navigating the complexities of raising families in a world that often seems to have lost its way, or at least seems to be listening to voices making things up as they go along! We will be rigorously addressing the pervasive influence of toxic social media platforms on our children and confronting the ongoing epidemic of prescription drug addiction. Furthermore, we will explore the widespread concerns surrounding education curricula that, for many, feel inadequate and, for some, even resemble indoctrination – and these are just a few examples.
When a social issue lies at the heart of our nation’s most critical conversations, we will approach it with a psychological and social perspective, always prioritizing real people over political rhetoric. You’ve made it clear that you get enough of political rhetoric elsewhere. In addition to these in-depth explorations, I will continue to conduct impactful, hard-hitting interviews with prominent headline newsmakers. Merit Street Media will also feature a dedicated news department committed to presenting the facts objectively, empowering you to form your own informed opinions – a truly novel concept in today’s media landscape!
