At a packed meeting on February 27th, the Mineola Board of Education shone a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of its students in both scientific research and musical performance, reinforcing the district’s commitment to excellence right here on Hampton Street.
The Board proudly acknowledged eleven high-achieving science research scholars for their participation in the prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search. Among these dedicated students, Fatimah Badoolah stood out, earning a coveted spot as a semifinalist in this nationally recognized competition. Further highlighting the strength of the science program at Hampton Street, science research teacher Jessica Carlson received the esteemed Regeneron Teacher of Merit Award, a testament to her guidance and mentorship.

The accolades continued as the spotlight turned to the district’s talented student musicians. Students from across Mineola, representing schools along Hampton Street and beyond, were celebrated for their selection to perform with the finest musicians at county and state levels. These honors included participation in three distinguished festivals: the Nassau Music Educators Association (NMEA) All County Festival, the Long Island String Festival (LISFA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-Eastern Honors Band.
