Imagine gliding down the street, the view constructing itself smoothly as you pan, revealing business listings, street names, and storefronts in a cohesive, immersive experience. Whether you’re traversing a straightforward street in New York or navigating a twisting road in San Francisco, Bing Street View provides a revolutionary way to see the world at street level.

The evolution of Bing Street View addresses previous navigation limitations. Historically, exploring Streetside involved moving between discrete “bubbles” – individual 360-degree views. Moving along a street required jumping from one bubble to the next. While functional, this method lacked the fluidity needed to grasp the overall layout of an area, such as an entire city block. Spotting businesses further down the street was also challenging, as clarity was strongest only in the immediate, perpendicular viewpoint of each bubble.

This updated approach maintains the immersive quality of street-level imagery but introduces smooth, continuous panning. This enhancement allows for effortless left-to-right navigation, making it significantly easier to quickly identify nearby points of interest. The street unfolds as a seamless sequence of ground-level photographs, enabling you to simply pan up and down the street to explore the neighborhood and pinpoint exactly what you’re searching for.

As you navigate through this enhanced view, staying oriented is simple with the street map positioned above the imagery. Directly below the images, an overlay displays business names and bus stops, providing essential location context without cluttering the visual field.

Looking to see what’s across the street? Just click the “u-turn” icon located beside the street name in the upper left corner of the image. Interested in exploring a cross street? Simply click on the street name; if Streetside imagery is available for that area, your view will seamlessly rotate to that street.

This new method of navigation in Bing Street View is designed to be intuitive and enriching. We encourage you to experience it firsthand and discover the enhanced possibilities for virtual exploration.
