Bridge Street Golf at Snipes Farm is not your grandfather’s golf course. While it cherishes the traditions of the game, new co-owner Jeff Pine is teaming up with Mike Moser to inject fresh energy and innovative concepts into this beloved local establishment. Since 2019, Pine has partnered with Moser, who has deep roots at the course having worked there since age 14, to elevate the Bridge Street Golf experience for everyone from seasoned golfers to families seeking a fun day out.
More Than Just a Round: A Hub of Golf Activities
Bridge Street Golf offers a comprehensive range of golfing activities. Golf enthusiasts can hone their skills at the driving range or on the pitch and putt par 3 course. For family fun, two miniature golf courses provide entertainment for all ages. Those looking to improve their game can take advantage of golf lessons. During the summer, Bridge Street Golf hosts a popular youth golf camp for children aged 7 to 14. This camp focuses on teaching the fundamentals of golf, including chipping, putting, and golf etiquette, all while fostering a love for the game in a fun, competitive environment. As Moser aptly points out, even the miniature golf courses offer opportunities to teach important aspects of golf in an engaging way.
Cosmic Golf and Other Exciting Innovations
Recognizing the need to attract a new generation of golfers and keep the sport vibrant, Bridge Street Golf is introducing exciting new features. This spring marks the launch of cosmic golf on weekend evenings. Imagine hitting glow golf balls at illuminated targets on the driving range, creating a visually stunning and interactive experience. Pine describes the glow golf balls as resembling “flying saucers,” emphasizing the novelty and engaging nature of this activity. To further enhance the atmosphere, Bridge Street Golf is considering adding a DJ to cosmic golf nights, playing music from within an inflatable bubble, creating a unique and memorable nighttime entertainment option.
Building on the success of cosmic golf, Bridge Street Golf plans to bring back glow golf to the miniature golf courses during warmer weather weekends, extending the illuminated fun to the entire facility. Beyond the glow, they are also innovating with the very game itself. Looking to blend sports and cater to diverse interests, Bridge Street Golf is reimagining the pitch and putt course. Moser plans to convert half of it into a nine-hole footgolf and frisbee golf area. Footgolf combines soccer and golf, where players use soccer balls and their feet to navigate the course. Frisbee golf, also known as disc golf, involves throwing a frisbee towards targets. These additions offer exciting alternatives to traditional golf, appealing to a wider range of ages and skill levels.
Enhancing Events and Family Experiences
Bridge Street Golf is committed to becoming the go-to destination for birthday parties, fundraisers, and corporate events. Upgrades are underway to enhance the event hosting capabilities, including landscaping improvements and the addition of comfortable seating options like tables, chairs, and couches outdoors. These upgrades aim to move beyond basic picnic tables and tents, creating a more inviting and comfortable environment for gatherings. The Par 3 Grill is also looking to expand its food menu beyond the current offerings of hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream, and water ice, catering to a broader range of tastes.
Understanding the appeal of entertainment bundles, Bridge Street Golf is exploring package deals that combine multiple activities for a discounted price. This approach aims to provide families with an affordable, all-day entertainment option, similar to the appeal of indoor entertainment centers and trampoline parks.
A Community Golf Destination
Bridge Street Golf values its customers and regularly hosts customer appreciation nights. Their popular text message loyalty program keeps customers informed about weekly offers, sometimes even too effectively, as Moser jokes about the overwhelming response. For Pine and Moser, the focus is on growing their customer base and establishing Bridge Street Golf as a vital part of the community. Pine, embracing the challenge, sees this venture as an enjoyable and engaging way to spend his time, stating, “It’s a nice idea to retire and do something like this. I play golf all the time.”
