We are a diverse community of questioners and believers, united by a desire to worship God, follow the teachings of Jesus, and serve the wider world.
To truly understand the spirit of Chapel Street, we encourage you to connect with our community. Please feel free to introduce yourself to our pastor, deacons, ushers, greeters, or even those seated beside you. We are eager to share more about our worship, fellowship, and service.
Sunday Morning Services
Our Sunday morning worship service at 10:00 am is the heart of our week at Chapel Street. It is a time for uplifting music, sacred reflection, and thought-provoking messages designed to inspire and engage.
Special Worship Opportunities
Throughout the year, Chapel Street offers special worship services to mark significant occasions. These services, such as Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Ash Wednesday, and Christmas Eve, typically take place at 7:00 pm and provide meaningful ways to observe these important times in the Christian calendar.
Finding Your Way to Chapel Street
Chapel Street Congregational Church is conveniently located at 185 Chapel Street, Lincoln, RI. For parking, a smaller lot is available behind the church off Comstock Street, offering handicapped parking and ramp access. Street parking is also readily available on Chapel Street in front of the church or along Comstock Street. Both the front and rear entrances lead into the narthex and sanctuary. For accessibility, a handicapped-accessible restroom is located in Fellowship Hall, on the same level as the sanctuary.
What to Expect During a Chapel Street Service
As you enter, you will be greeted by a friendly usher who will provide you with a bulletin. This bulletin outlines the order of service and will guide you through the morning. Our services typically include readings from scripture, an engaging sermon, communal prayer, and inspiring music. You may be invited to stand, sing, pray, greet those around you, enjoy moments of silent reflection, or participate in responsive readings.
Communion is a cherished part of our worship, celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and on major Christian holidays. At Chapel Street, our communion table is open to all. Regardless of background, belief, or life stage, all are welcome to partake in this sacrament of grace, mercy, and forgiveness.
During each service, we uphold the tradition of receiving an offering to support the ministries of Chapel Street Church. Your generous gifts are gratefully received and enable us to continue our work in the community and beyond. We also recognize that generosity extends beyond financial giving; we encourage offerings of time and talent to the church, other organizations, or individuals in need.
Sunday School for Children and Families
At Chapel Street, children and families are a vital and cherished part of our community. We offer Sunday School programs for children from kindergarten through high school, providing age-appropriate learning and fellowship opportunities.
What Should You Wear to Chapel Street?
When it comes to attire, you’ll find a range at Chapel Street. Some attendees prefer to dress in their “Sunday best,” while others opt for a more casual style. We believe that God is more concerned with the condition of our hearts than our clothing. We encourage you to wear whatever feels most comfortable and authentic to you.
