NEW YORK – Clear Street, a pioneering cloud-native financial technology firm committed to revolutionizing the brokerage ecosystem, today announced the establishment of its Equity Research Group. This strategic initiative is designed to deliver comprehensive market analysis and valuable investment insights to Clear Street’s expanding base of institutional clients. Spearheaded by seasoned industry expert Mara Goldstein, Director of Research, the Equity Research Group will initially concentrate on the high-growth sectors of Disruptive Technology, Energy Transition, and Healthcare, significantly enriching the service portfolio for the Company’s investment banking and prime brokerage clients.
“The introduction of our equity research division is a natural extension of our existing Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, M&A Advisory, and Corporate Access offerings,” stated Ed Tilly, President and CEO-Elect of Clear Street. “This development substantially strengthens Clear Street’s overall value proposition, particularly for our growing clientele of opportunistic hedge funds. By integrating equity research capabilities, we are becoming an even more comprehensive partner for our clients. This enhancement complements our established strengths across prime brokerage, professional clearing, futures, and professional trading, which recently expanded with the acquisition of Instinet’s Fox River algorithmic trading business.”
To lead and execute its research strategy, Clear Street has appointed distinguished professionals Brian Dobson and Tim Moore, CFA, as Managing Directors and Senior Research Analysts. Both will report directly to Ms. Goldstein. Mr. Dobson will leverage his expertise to cover Disruptive Technology, while Mr. Moore will focus on Energy Transition. Furthermore, Clear Street has welcomed Kaveri Pohlman, Ph.D., and William Maughan as Managing Directors and Senior Equity Analysts, who will both specialize in the Healthcare sector under Ms. Goldstein’s leadership.
“The Disruptive Technology, Energy Transition, and Healthcare sectors are ripe with compelling investment opportunities for those seeking to capitalize on groundbreaking innovation,” commented Ms. Goldstein. “Our mission is to produce distinctive and insightful research that not only provides tangible value to our clients but also further solidifies Clear Street’s prominent position within the financial market. I am excited to collaborate with Brian and Tim to achieve this vision.”
Mr. Dobson brings a wealth of experience with 20 years in capital markets, having held senior equity research roles at respected firms including Jefferies, Nomura, Lazard Capital Markets, and Susquehanna. Most recently, he served as Head of Disruptive Technology & SPAC equity research at Chardan Capital Markets.
Tim Moore’s two-decade career in equity research includes a specialization in small and micro-cap stocks. His prior accomplishments include being named to the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team during his tenure at Lehman Brothers, and he also brings 14 years of buy-side experience gained from positions at Invesco, Fort Washington/Touchstone, and other leading firms.
