No pub experience is complete without starting with some mouthwatering appetizers, and George Street Pub does not disappoint. The menu boasts a tempting array of choices, making it hard to pick just one. The Pub Chips, described as house-made chips served with bleu cheese fondue, immediately caught my eye with their promise of rich flavor. However, on this visit, we opted for the Hand Dipped Chicken Strips. Served with a choice of ranch, bleu cheese, BBQ, honey mustard, or buffalo sauce, we selected ranch and buffalo. These chicken strips were an absolute delight! The crispy exterior gave way to juicy, tender, and perfectly hot chicken inside. Each bite was a testament to quality pub food done right.
For the main course, the decisions were equally enticing. After some deliberation, I chose the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This hearty sandwich is served on a brioche bun with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. To enhance the flavor, you have the option to add GSP sauce (a spicy BBQ sauce), classic BBQ sauce, or buffalo sauce. Intrigued, I added the GSP sauce. The sandwich arrived with a generous side of waffle fries. The portion size was impressive, featuring two full fillets of grilled chicken. The GSP sauce was the star for me – a perfect blend of spicy and sweet that complemented the chicken sandwich exceptionally well. And the waffle fries? Perfectly crispy and delicious.
My boyfriend decided to try the Classic Burger, a staple for any pub. Topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and your choice of cheese, it’s a straightforward yet essential menu item. We often use a restaurant’s basic burger as a benchmark, and George Street Pub’s Classic Burger definitely stood up to scrutiny. It was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection – nothing overly fancy, but simply a very tasty and satisfying burger.
After this delightful experience, one thing is certain: I will definitely be returning to George Street Pub to explore more of their menu. From the appetizers to the main courses, the food was consistently delicious and satisfying.
