The City of Missoula, through its Redevelopment Agency (MRA), is initiating a search for expert firms to develop a comprehensive redevelopment plan for the City-owned Johnson Street Property. This prime 8-acre site, strategically located on South Johnson Street, adjacent to the popular Bitterroot Trail, and at the intersection with North Avenue West, presents a significant opportunity for urban renewal within Missoula’s Urban Renewal District III.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) calls upon qualified firms to conduct a public input study, perform thorough site and financial feasibility analyses, and create innovative urban design concepts. The ultimate goal is to produce a visionary redevelopment plan for the Johnson Street Property, situated north of the Montana Rail Link Park.
The City of Missoula is particularly interested in engaging with firms or teams that demonstrate proven experience in infill redevelopment planning and urban design. Crucially, successful candidates must also possess a strong track record in developing and executing public engagement processes. This is essential to facilitate consensus among diverse community stakeholders, ensuring the Johnson Street redevelopment plan reflects a broad range of interests and needs.
The selection process will involve a careful evaluation of submitted qualifications and proposals by a dedicated Selection Committee. Shortlisted firms may be invited for interviews in mid to late October. The anticipated contract term for this significant Johnson Street project is expected to be at least six months from the selection date. Interested parties should note that proposals are limited to a maximum of 15 pages to ensure conciseness and focus.
All information submitted in response to this RFP is subject to public disclosure. Respondents are advised to clearly identify any proprietary content within their submissions.
