Grand Opening of Kroger Marketplace on Main Street Celebrated in Amelia, Ohio

Amelia, OH – The community of Amelia and Pierce Township in Clermont County buzzed with excitement this morning as local leaders and residents gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Kroger Marketplace on Main Street. The expansive new store, a significant addition to the area, promises a unique shopping experience and enhanced local amenities for residents.

Commissioner David Uible, speaking at the opening ceremony, highlighted the positive impact of the new Kroger Marketplace. “We were thrilled to be part of today’s celebration, marking not just the arrival of a fantastic shopping destination, but also the creation of new jobs and opportunities for development within our communities,” Uible stated. He also acknowledged Kroger’s generous community donations, further emphasizing the company’s commitment to the local area.

This Main Street Kroger Marketplace is distinguished as the second largest Kroger Marketplace and a pioneering location within the region. Notably, it is the first Marketplace in the area to feature an extensive apparel section, offering clothing, shoes, and accessories for men, women, and children. Beyond groceries, shoppers will discover a diverse range of home goods, including décor, kitchenware, home storage solutions, office supplies, toys, and even furniture.

The new store also caters to a wide array of customer needs with specialized departments and services. Parents will appreciate the dedicated Baby World department, stocked with essentials like cribs, strollers, and car seats. Convenience is further enhanced by a Starbucks coffee kiosk, a Western Union outlet, The Little Clinic for healthcare needs, a drive-through pharmacy, and a Fred Meyer Jewelers.

Commissioner Ed Humphrey also shared his enthusiasm for the new Main Street Kroger Marketplace. “Kroger consistently proves to be a valuable partner to the communities they serve. The Amelia/Pierce Township store is truly exceptional, offering an unparalleled variety of goods and services for our residents,” Commissioner Humphrey remarked.

The grand opening celebration was made even more festive with performances by the Amelia High School band during the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the Bethel Tate High School band later in the afternoon. Radio personality Jim Scott also entertained the crowds from noon to 2 p.m. Located at 262 W. Main St., the sprawling 133,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing convenience and expanded shopping options for the Amelia and Pierce Township communities.
