Keeping Los Angeles clean is a crucial task, and La Street Cleaning plays a vital role in this. StreetsLA, with its dedicated fleet of street sweepers and Motor Sweeper Operators, works tirelessly to enhance our quality of life. These familiar vehicles are essential for reaching over 4,700 curb miles across the city, ensuring our streets are clean, preventing debris from entering our rivers and the ocean, and reducing the risk of flooding from clogged storm drains.
However, like many city services, LA street cleaning has been impacted by recent events. Staff shortages resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent city-wide hiring freezes have led to adjustments in service frequency. Areas previously swept weekly will now be serviced biweekly. This means your street will be swept either during the first and third weeks of the month, or the second and fourth weeks.
To help residents adapt to this new schedule and avoid parking tickets, StreetsLA has launched a notification system. By signing up, you’ll receive timely alerts 48 and 24 hours before street cleaning is scheduled on your registered street. This proactive approach ensures you have ample time to move your vehicle and contribute to the efficiency of the cleaning process.
Registering for notifications is simple. You can use the form available on the StreetsLA website. For those who park in multiple locations, the interactive map offers a convenient way to register for notifications across different streets. This user-friendly system is designed to keep every Los Angeles resident informed and prepared.
It’s important to remember that while notifications are a helpful tool, residents should always be mindful of posted street signs. Parking restrictions are enforced on scheduled cleaning days, and vehicles parked in designated no-parking zones will be ticketed. Utilizing the Street Sweeping Near Me webpage and the notification system are the best ways to stay informed and avoid penalties. For detailed information regarding parking regulations and enforcement, please consult the LA Department of Transportation’s parking information pages.
Your cooperation in keeping streets clear of parked vehicles on sweeping days is greatly appreciated. When our sweepers have unimpeded access to the curb, they can effectively remove debris, making our streets safer, more navigable, and environmentally sustainable. By working together, we can ensure LA street cleaning continues to benefit every neighborhood in Los Angeles.
