Welcome to Colonial Parking, Inc.! We appreciate you choosing us for your monthly parking needs. As a valued monthly account holder, you are entitled to special privileges, and in return, we ask that you familiarize yourself with and adhere to the following guidelines. These guidelines are designed to ensure a smooth and efficient parking experience for all our customers near Landmark E Street and throughout Washington D.C. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated Customer Care Team at (202) 295-8080 or via email at [email protected].
1. Monthly Parking Permit: Your Access to Convenient Parking
Navigating parking in bustling areas like Landmark E Street can be challenging. Your monthly parking permit is your key to accessing our parking facilities, offering a convenient solution for regular parking. Please note the following permit guidelines:
-
Access, Not Necessarily a Dedicated Space: A regular monthly parking permit grants you access to your designated parking facility during its standard operating hours. However, it does not guarantee a park-and-lock space. For guaranteed 24-hour access or a reserved parking space, please contact our Customer Care Team to inquire about availability and associated rates.
-
Proper Display is Mandatory: On the FIRST DAY OF EACH MONTH you intend to park, detach and hang your current monthly permit from your rearview mirror. Ensure that the permit month and number are clearly visible through your windshield. Permits displaying an incorrect month are considered invalid. Failure to properly display a valid permit may result in a non-refundable daily parking ticket.
-
Daily Tickets for Non-Compliance: Parking without a valid, displayed permit, or without current monthly payment, may result in the issuance of a daily parking ticket. Payment of this daily ticket is required for exit and cannot be deducted from your monthly parking fee or account balance.
-
Timely Permit Delivery & Duplicates: If you do not receive your upcoming monthly permit by the 25TH OF THE CURRENT MONTH, or if you misplace your permit, please contact our Customer Care Team immediately. We will verify your account status and, if current, prepare a duplicate permit for mailing or pick-up. The duplicate permit will invalidate the original. It is crucial to keep us informed of any address or phone number changes to ensure timely delivery. Please be aware that a nominal fee may apply for duplicate permits. Requests for permit delivery to the parking facility may take up to 48 hours.
-
One Permit, One Vehicle: If you operate multiple vehicles, you may transfer your permit between them. However, the permit must always be displayed in the vehicle parked in our facility on any given day. Each permit is valid for parking only one vehicle at a time. Using a single permit to admit multiple vehicles simultaneously will automatically invalidate the permit, and all vehicles involved will be subject to towing at the owner’s risk and expense or assessed the posted daily parking rate.
-
No Vehicle Storage: Monthly parking spaces are intended for regular parking and are not to be used for vehicle storage.
2. Keycard For Garage Access: Secure and Streamlined Entry
For enhanced security and ease of access at many of our Landmark E Street area locations and beyond, you may be issued a keycard, transponder, or access device. Please adhere to the following guidelines regarding these devices:
-
Device Security and Authorized Use:
- Always keep your electronic access devices in your possession when you leave your vehicle. Transponders can be detached and removed from your vehicle for safekeeping.
- Your keycard, transponder, or access device, used in conjunction with your parking permit (if applicable), is solely for the entry and exit of your authorized vehicle. Any unauthorized use may lead to the revocation of your monthly parking privileges.
-
Report Lost or Malfunctioning Devices Promptly: If your access device is lost or malfunctions, please immediately report it to our Customer Care Team to ensure uninterrupted access and prevent unauthorized use.
-
Daily Ticket in Lieu of Access Device: At locations where a keycard or transponder is mandatory for entry, failure to present your device will require you to take a daily ticket upon entry. You will then be responsible for paying the daily rate upon exit.
-
Replacement Fees for Lost Devices: A non-refundable replacement fee will be charged for lost keycards, access devices, or transponders.
-
Device Return Upon Account Closure: Upon closing your monthly parking account, it is your responsibility to return any Colonial-issued keycard, transponder, or access device to our corporate office at 1050 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW Suite #100, Washington, DC 20007. Failure to return the access device may result in additional card fees or the forfeiture of device deposit refunds, where applicable. Remember, both your keycard and permit (if applicable) are required for valid parking.
3. Parking Guidelines: Ensuring Safety and Efficiency
To maintain a safe and efficient parking environment for everyone at our facilities near Landmark E Street and throughout D.C., please observe the following parking guidelines:
-
Valid Vehicle Registration Required: All vehicles parked in our facilities must display a valid license plate and be legally registered. Unregistered vehicles are subject to towing and/or ticketing at the owner’s expense.
-
Attendant Parking and Space Allocation: Please cooperate with our parking attendants. If requested, allow the attendant to park your vehicle or park it according to their directions. Park only in non-reserved spaces, and our attendants will assist you in identifying appropriate parking areas.
-
Key Drop-Off When Requested: When instructed to “leave your key,” please leave ONLY your IGNITION KEY with the attendant as requested. Failure to leave your ignition key when required may result in your vehicle being towed at your expense.
-
Safe Driving Practices: Always drive slowly (5 MPH or less) and safely within the parking facility, with your headlights turned on to enhance visibility.
-
Attendant Call Buttons for Assistance: Where provided, our garages are equipped with ATTENDANT CALL BUTTONS. Use these buttons to request an attendant to move another vehicle or retrieve your keys. For your safety, please do not approach or enter any vehicles within the facility yourself.
-
After-Hours Vehicle Security: As a safety precaution, all vehicles left in our facilities after posted closing hours are locked. Please ensure you have a duplicate ignition key readily available. For after-hours assistance, please call our onsite garage assistance line at (202) 295-8200. Note that vehicle retrieval may not be possible until the facility reopens the next business day.
4. Payments: Simple and Convenient Options
We strive to make payments for your monthly parking near Landmark E Street as convenient as possible. Please take note of the following payment policies:
-
Timely Payments for Continued Service: Invoices and parking credentials for the upcoming month are mailed only after payment for the current month has been received.
-
Payment Due Date and Late Charges: Parking fees are payable in advance, due by the 1st day of each month. Please remit your payment using the REMITTANCE portion (bottom section) of the invoice, either in the provided envelope or delivered to the address indicated on the invoice front. Payments received after the 5th of the month will incur a late charge, and all outstanding payments must be settled before you receive your next valid parking credential.
-
One-Time Setup Fee for New Accounts: A one-time setup fee of $5.00 applies to all new monthly parking accounts, whether individual or group accounts.
-
Monthly Processing Fees: A monthly processing fee is applied to each account to help cover the costs of maintaining our parker/group portals and ensuring data security. The fee is $1.75 per month for individual accounts and $2.00 per month for group accounts.
-
Convenience Fees for Certain Payment Methods: A $10.00 convenience fee is applied to all payments made by check and pay-by-phone. We encourage you to enroll in our AutoPay® Program or utilize our online Customer Care Center for electronic payments, which avoid these fees. More information is available online at www.ecolonial.com.
-
Full Monthly Payment Policy: Please pay the exact amount specified on your bill. NO CREDIT is given for vacation periods or partial month usage of the parking facility. Accounts closed mid-month will not receive a prorated final bill; the full monthly parking fee is due and payable for any part of a month used.
-
Returned Check Fee: A service charge of $30.00 will be applied for each check returned due to insufficient funds. Payments for returned check charges, as well as the outstanding parking fee, must be made via money order, certified check, or valid credit card.
5. Account Status: Managing Your Monthly Parking
Understanding your account status is important for maintaining uninterrupted monthly parking near Landmark E Street. Here are key points regarding your account:
-
Monthly Cycle: Monthly parking privileges are based on the calendar month, starting on the 1st and ending on the last day of the month.
-
Account Closure Policy and Notice: Should you decide to close your account, a 30-day notice is required. To properly close your account:
- Return your UNDETACHED, UNUSED PARKING PERMIT by the 1st of the month, and no later than the 5th, to our corporate office at 1050 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW Suite #100, Washington, DC 20007. Using the permit for even ONE (1) DAY, or failing to return it by the 5th, constitutes acceptance of the contract for that month, and the full monthly rate will be due.
- Return any COLONIAL® ISSUED KEY CARD/TRANSPONDER/ACCESS DEVICE to our corporate office at the same address. We cannot finalize your account closure until your keycard is returned. Similar to the permit, using the access device for ONE (1) DAY, or failing to return it by the 5th, implies acceptance of the monthly contract.
-
Late Payment Reminders: We may contact you via phone or place a LATE PAYMENT reminder notice on your windshield if your account is believed to be DELINQUENT. Please contact our Customer Care Team immediately to resolve any payment issues and avoid service interruption. We reserve the right to suspend or interrupt service for delinquent accounts.
-
Account Suspension for Delinquency: If your account is SUSPENDED FOR DELINQUENCY, you will be required to pay the full outstanding balance before service reinstatement. Prorated balances are not applicable upon account reinstatement.
-
Permanent Account Closure: We reserve the right to permanently close accounts due to repeated delinquency (two or more consecutive payments received after the 5th) or for failure to comply with any of these monthly parking guidelines.
-
Termination or Transfer of Parking Privileges: Colonial Parking may, at any time, with or without cause, notify you in writing of:
- The termination of your parking privileges, effective at the end of any calendar month.
- The transfer of your parking privileges to a different location within the same parking facility or to another parking facility operated by us.
6. Damage Claims: Our Commitment to Vehicle Care
Colonial Parking is committed to the careful handling of your vehicle. In the unlikely event of damage, please follow these procedures:
-
On-Site Claim Forms and Reporting: Colonial Parking makes every effort to return your vehicle in the same condition as it was received. However, should damage occur, each location manager has Claim Forms available. These forms must be completed before removing the vehicle from the parking premises. Failure to do so may result in the denial of your claim.
-
Personal Articles Disclaimer: Colonial Parking cannot be held responsible for any personal items, including keycards, transponders, or access devices, left inside your vehicle.
-
Exclusions from Responsibility: Colonial Parking is not responsible for losses resulting from freezing temperatures or mechanical failures of your vehicle, as these are outside our control.
-
Limited Liability: Colonial Parking is not responsible for any loss to your vehicle or its contents unless the damage is a direct result of Colonial’s negligence. Furthermore, we are not liable for losses occurring during hours when the parking facility is closed.
7. D.C. Parking Tax Exemption
For information regarding potential D.C. parking tax exemptions, please inquire with our Customer Care Team or refer to the D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles website for eligibility requirements and application procedures.
