Effective January 6, 2025, Market Street Garage is enhancing its services to provide you with parking access around the clock from Monday through Friday. Whether you’re working late, enjoying downtown York, or need overnight parking, our garage is now available to meet your needs.
During daytime hours, from 8 am to 5 pm, standard hourly parking rates will apply, ensuring fair pricing for short visits. For evening and overnight parking, from 5 pm to 8 am, a flat rate of just $2.00 will be in effect, offering an affordable option for longer stays. Weekends and City-observed holidays offer free parking, making Market Street Garage a convenient choice for leisure activities and events.
Convenient Hourly and Evening Parking Rates
Here’s a detailed breakdown of our hourly parking rates during the weekdays (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm):
- Up to 1 hour: $1.50
- Up to 2 hours: $3.00
- Up to 3 hours: $6.50
- Up to 4 hours: $10.00
- Each additional hour: $2.50/hour
- Daily Maximum: $22.00
After 5 pm until 8 am, take advantage of our $2.00 flat rate for evening and overnight parking. Please note that these updated rates will be implemented starting January 6, 2025. In the event of a lost ticket, a fee of $25.00 will be applied.

Market Street Garage is centrally located at 41 E. Market St., York PA 17401, directly across from the York County Administration Center. This prime location offers easy access to downtown businesses, government offices, and local attractions. Like all York City parking facilities, Market Street Garage is fully ADA accessible, ensuring comfortable and convenient parking for all visitors.
Monthly Parking Permits at Market Street Garage
For regular parkers, monthly parking access is available at Market Street Garage for $96.00 per month. This permit grants you convenient and cost-effective parking throughout the month. Monthly permits are also valid at King St. Garage and Philadelphia St. Garage, offering flexibility across downtown York.
To apply for a monthly parking permit at Market Street Garage or any of our facilities, please visit the OpenGov Citizens Portal. Temporary garage access for events or other specific needs is also available for $35.00 per week.
