Experience the Fun at Monroe Street Midway in Downtown Detroit

Get ready for an exciting season of entertainment as Monroe Street Midway in Downtown Detroit reopens for 2023! Starting Thursday, May 18th, this vibrant outdoor venue, presented by Bedrock and RollerCade, offers a fantastic range of activities for all ages. At the heart of the Midway, the Rollout Detroit Roller Rink provides themed nights and open skate sessions, inviting everyone to lace up their skates and roll. For just $13 per person, which includes skate rentals, you can join the fun. While walk-ins are welcome, reserving your spot online is recommended for a seamless experience.

The Rollout Detroit Roller Rink schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday – Saturday: 12pm – 3pm; 4pm – 7pm; 8pm – 11pm
  • Sunday: 12pm – 2pm; 3pm – 6pm; 7pm – 9pm

Beyond the roller rink, Monroe Street Midway offers a variety of FREE activities and attractions for everyone to enjoy:

Rocket Mortgage Sports Zone: Sports enthusiasts can head to the Rocket Mortgage Sports Zone, featuring two half-court basketball areas and a full-court, multi-use sports space perfect for basketball and pickleball. These courts are available to the public for free on a first-come, first-served basis, thanks to the support of the Rocket Community Fund.

Playground-Style Activations: Adding a playful touch this year are new LED swings and seesaws. These interactive installations offer a fun and engaging experience for visitors of all ages, creating a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere within the Midway.

Mini Golf: Test your putting skills on the enhanced 9-hole mini golf course. This engaging activity is free and open to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis, providing a relaxed and fun challenge for families and friends.

Original Artwork: Immerse yourself in Detroit’s vibrant art scene with original artwork displayed throughout Monroe Street Midway. Featuring creations by renowned local Detroit artists such as Sheefy McFly, Olivia Guterson, Tony Whlgn, India Solomon, David Rubello, and Marlo Broughton, the Midway serves as an outdoor art gallery, showcasing the city’s creative spirit.

Live Programming and Events: Monroe Street Midway is buzzing with energy thanks to a diverse lineup of live programming and events. Enjoy Fitness Fridays to kickstart your weekend, groove to the tunes at Silent Disco Saturdays, and bring the kids for Dino Sundays. Additionally, local DJs and musical performers will be featured, ensuring a lively and entertaining atmosphere throughout the season.

Food and Beverage: Satisfy your cravings with a selection of tasty treats available from the Midway’s concession stands. Grab a snack or a refreshing beverage to keep you energized as you enjoy all the activities and entertainment.
