Nubeluz Rooftop Bar at Ritz-Carlton New York Nomad: Experience NYC’s Skyline on West 28th Street

José Andrés, the celebrated chef and humanitarian, has expanded his New York City footprint with the opening of Nubeluz, a dazzling rooftop bar perched atop the Ritz-Carlton New York in Nomad. Located at 25 W. 28th Street, New York, NY, at the crossroads of Broadway, Nubeluz offers breathtaking 270-degree views of the city skyline from the 50th floor, promising an unforgettable experience. This highly anticipated opening follows the successful launch of Andrés’s Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, Zaytinya, earlier this summer on the ground floor of the same building. Reservations for Nubeluz are now open, with seatings commencing Saturday, September 24th.

Inspired by the Spanish words for “cloud” (nube) and “light” (luz), Nubeluz is designed to be an elevated escape. This swanky, jewel-toned bar boasts 132 indoor seats, including a stylish bar area, and two outdoor terraces accommodating 12 and 20 guests respectively. Each vantage point provides panoramic views, making it a prime destination to soak in the iconic Manhattan skyline.

The innovative cocktail menu is the creation of Miguel Lancha, the acclaimed “Cocktail Innovator” from José Andrés’s ThinkFoodGroup, renowned for his groundbreaking work at Barmini in Washington, D.C. Guests can expect inventive concoctions like the Foggy Hill, a captivating blend of mezcal, vermouth, Cynar, Aperol, and an ethereal orange-thyme “aromatic cloud.” For those seeking non-alcoholic options, the menu features equally sophisticated zero-proof drinks such as the Firefly, crafted with Gnista Barreled Oak, saffron, Thai basil, Thai chile tincture, and tonic. Cocktails at Nubeluz range from $16 to $24, reflecting the premium ingredients and artistry involved.

Complementing the drinks is a curated grazing menu featuring a selection of refined bites. Patrons can indulge in oysters, luxurious foie gras terrine, or a playful bagel and lox cone adorned with cream cheese, salmon roe, and black sesame. Other tempting options include a grilled cheese elevated with honey, thyme, and mustard, along with Jamón Ibérico and smoked salmon served with labneh, roe, and crispy potato chips. Snacks are priced from $6 to $32, with the exception of caviar, where selections like Beluga can reach up to $950.

Sam Bakhshandehpour, president of the José Andrés Group, has signaled further expansion in the city, mentioning plans to open a New York location of The Bazaar within the Ritz-Carlton New York later in the year. “Bringing the magic of our bars and lounges to the heart of this iconic city skyline is a meaningful milestone as we grow in New York City,” he stated in a press release.

This expansion in New York occurs alongside adjustments in Miami, where ThinkFoodGroup recently announced the upcoming 2023 closure of The Bazaar at the SLS hotel in South Beach after a decade. A previous Bazaar location at the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills also closed in 2020. However, the group is actively growing in Los Angeles, having recently opened two of three new dining concepts, and is also expanding in Washington, D.C., taking over the historic Old Post Office building, formerly a Trump property.

Nubeluz welcomes guests Sunday through Wednesday from 5 p.m. to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Reservations are essential to experience this new jewel in New York City’s rooftop bar scene at Nubeluz West 28th Street New York Ny.
