You might wonder, what sparked my journey into the world of editing? It’s a story of noticing details. Everywhere I looked, misspelled words, typos, and grammatical errors seemed to jump out. I simply couldn’t ignore them, and felt a constant urge to correct them. My husband often joked, “Why don’t you become an editor?” and “Could you please stop editing my love notes?”
While I playfully dismissed his comments about the love notes – some things are just non-negotiable! – the idea of becoming an editor took root. Eventually, I connected with a book club friend, Aimee, who worked with authors. A huge thank you to Aimee for introducing me to a Facebook group for independent authors seeking ARC readers, beta readers, and service providers. It was there that I recognized a real need for approachable and dependable editors. In 2021, Baker Street Revisions officially began, and I welcomed my first clients.
