Stay Informed: Your Street Cleaning Schedule in Los Angeles

Keeping our streets clean is a vital part of maintaining the quality of life in Los Angeles, and StreetsLA is dedicated to this task. Our familiar street sweepers, operated by our team of full-time Motor Sweeper Operators, play a crucial role in this effort.

Across Los Angeles, over 4,700 curb miles are marked with “No Parking” signs specifically to allow our sweepers to effectively reach the curb. This cleaning process is essential for removing debris, preventing trash from entering our rivers and the ocean, and reducing the risk of local flooding caused by blocked storm drains.

Due to staff shortages resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic’s financial impact and a subsequent city-wide hiring freeze, we’ve had to adjust the frequency of our street cleaning services. Areas previously swept weekly will now be serviced biweekly. This means your street will be swept either during the first and third weeks of the month, or during the second and fourth weeks.

To help you stay informed about your Schedule For Street Cleaning, we encourage you to sign up for notifications! We will send alerts 24 and 48 hours before your scheduled street sweeping. You can register your address using the form on this page, or utilize this map to explore street cleaning schedules for various locations where you frequently park and register for multiple addresses.

We urge all residents to pay close attention to street signage to avoid parking tickets. Vehicles parked in restricted zones on scheduled street cleaning days will be cited. Using the Street Sweeping Near Me webpage and our notification system is the best way to know when your street is scheduled for cleaning, allowing you to plan accordingly. For detailed information regarding parking regulations and enforcement, please visit the LA Department of Transportation’s parking information pages: LA Department of Transportation Parking Info.

Your cooperation is key to helping us effectively clean your neighborhood! By ensuring that streets are clear of parked vehicles, our sweepers can access the curb where most debris accumulates. This collaborative effort results in safer, more mobile, and more sustainable streets for everyone in Los Angeles.
