Over a recent weekend, a trip back home coincided with a birthday celebration for a dear friend, Kyle. While technically a joint party with Caitlin, whose dedication to cycling kept her away for much of the evening, the gathering was a memorable occasion, especially because I brought a special guest: Chun-Li.
This particular Chun-Li figure hails from Hasbro’s 1994 Street Fighter: The Movie toy line. For many collectors, including myself for a long time, this figure represented a “holy grail.” It was a completely new sculpt, distinct from previous Chun-Li figures, and rumored to be the basis for a planned Cammy figure in the same movie line (which sadly never materialized). Beyond its rarity, the figure is significant because female characters were less common in lines like GI Joe, which this toy emulates in style, and because Chun-Li herself is an undeniably iconic and powerful character.
To add a playful element to the birthday festivities, I decided to ask everyone at the party to pose for a photo with Chun-Li. It was a fun way to share my enthusiasm for this unique action figure and introduce my friends to a piece of Street Fighter movie memorabilia. The results, captured in chronological order, showcase Chun-Li’s unexpected adventure at a birthday party.

Celebrating with Kyle and Caitlin is always a joy, and it’s clear Chun-Li thoroughly enjoyed her birthday party adventure as well.
