Downtown Buffalo is buzzing with anticipation for the arrival of Street Light Brasserie, a vibrant new restaurant set to redefine the city’s dining scene. Located at the prominent corner of East Huron and Washington, this exciting eatery promises an elevated all-day dining experience in one of Buffalo’s most beloved neighborhoods. “This is an iconic intersection,” says Danny Lettieri, co-owner of Street Light Brasserie, highlighting the significance of the location. The team aimed to create a concept worthy of this prime spot, and Street Light Brasserie is poised to deliver just that.
Street Light Brasserie has transformed the space of the former Oshun Restaurant with a complete and stylish makeover. The vision for Street Light Brasserie is an American Brasserie that welcomes guests from the early hours of the morning until late into the night, offering a versatile and inviting atmosphere. Nina Lettieri, another co-owner, describes the design as “modern eclectic,” emphasizing the welcoming vibe they aim to create for every visitor. Collaborating with local companies, they’ve curated unique furnishings that lend a universal appeal to the space, ensuring everyone feels at home. The restaurant boasts diverse seating options to cater to different preferences, including two full bars, comfortable stylized booths, plush couches, and classic tables. This variety ensures whether you’re seeking a quick bite, a relaxed lounge experience, or a formal dinner setting, Street Light Brasserie accommodates.
The heart of Street Light Brasserie is undoubtedly its meticulously crafted all-day menu. No matter the time of your visit, you’ll find enticing options available. Danny Lettieri explains the menu’s breadth: “The menu starts off with breakfast favorites like chicken and waffles, a classic French omelet, and fluffy pancakes.” But it expands far beyond breakfast, venturing into sophisticated dishes like bouillabaisse, fresh fish, and delectable pasta creations. For those seeking more casual fare, the menu also features elevated diner classics such as smash burgers and steak and eggs, all prepared with a refined touch. Complementing the food menu is an equally impressive drinks selection. The bar program includes specialty mocktails and cocktails, with one standout being the signature “Sesame Street.” This inventive rum-based cocktail, crafted by Danny Lettieri himself, combines fresh kiwi, cucumber, and pineapple juice, finished with a delicate touch of sesame oil. The playful name is a nod to the restaurant’s “street light” theme, and the sesame oil adds a unique savory note to the refreshing green drink.
Located at 5 E. Huron in downtown Buffalo, Street Light Brasserie is the latest venture from the Lettieri family, in partnership with Matthew Milano. Danny and Nina Lettieri are no strangers to the restaurant industry, having grown up working in family restaurants in Western New York. They are also the experienced operators behind the popular Savoy Buffalo on Elmwood Avenue, a successful establishment they’ve run for over a decade. Street Light Brasserie represents “the next step” for their culinary journey, building upon their years of experience and passion for the restaurant business. Nina Lettieri emphasizes the location’s appeal, stating, “I just love this area, specifically this corner. The area needed a place like this.”
While an official opening date is still to be announced, Street Light Brasserie is expected to open its doors later this spring. The team is diligently putting the finishing touches on the restaurant, ensuring every detail is perfect for their grand debut. Danny Lettieri’s passion for both the restaurant business and Buffalo itself is evident as he shares, “We need to put our best foot forward. You can only make the first impression one time, so we really want everyone to walk in this door the first time, and want to come back, and bring their family and friends.” Street Light Brasserie is poised to become a downtown Buffalo staple, offering a welcoming space and a diverse menu that caters to all tastes and times of day.
