Summer Streets is New York City’s unique annual event that transforms miles of streets into car-free public spaces for everyone to enjoy. Every year, on select Saturdays, from 7 am to 3 pm, participate in this vibrant celebration across NYC. These open streets invite people of all ages to walk, bike, play, and simply enjoy the city in a whole new way. Take advantage of designated rest areas along the routes, offering a variety of free activities and experiences for all participants.
Summer Streets promotes healthy living and eco-friendly transportation options within the city. Expanding in 2023 to encompass all five boroughs, this initiative created nearly 20 miles of streets free from cars, providing unprecedented space for recreation and community engagement.
