An Intimate London Wedding Lunch at The Ivy West Street: Lyssa & Joe’s Spring Celebration

Lyssa and Joe’s London wedding was a sophisticated affair, weaving together the charm of the city they call home. As a Mayfair wedding photographer, I was thrilled to capture their special day, which unfolded across three iconic London locations. From the heartfelt ceremony at Mayfair Library to a vibrant evening party in Covent Garden’s Ice Tank, the highlight for many, and certainly for the wedding party’s midday interlude, was their elegant and intimate lunch at The Ivy West Street.

Their wedding day, set on a beautiful spring weekend in May, was imbued with a distinctly London feel. Union Jack flags fluttered in the breeze, adding a festive touch to the streets as Lyssa, originally from North Carolina, and Joe, hailing from Ireland, celebrated their international love story in the city where it blossomed. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful from the outset. Guests gathered in the picturesque Mount Street Gardens, basking in the spring sunshine before the ceremony commenced. Following the heartfelt vows, the bridal party and guests enjoyed the delightful weather before embarking on a classic red Routemaster bus, their destination: The Ivy West Street.

The Ivy West Street provided the perfect setting for their intimate wedding lunch. The private dining room at The Ivy West Street is renowned for its sophisticated ambiance and impeccable service. For Lyssa, this venue held a particularly sentimental significance as it was her late mother’s favourite restaurant in London, adding a poignant layer to their celebration. Guests were welcomed into the beautifully appointed private dining space at The Ivy West Street, where they indulged in delectable canapés and a gourmet meal. The lunch at The Ivy West Street was punctuated by emotional and heartfelt speeches, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere. After a leisurely and joyful lunch at The Ivy West Street, guests had time to refresh themselves and enjoy the continued fabulous weather before the evening’s festivities began.

The evening party unfolded at Ice Tank in Covent Garden, a contemporary venue offering a striking contrast to the classic elegance of The Ivy West Street. Located a short stroll from The Ivy West Street, Ice Tank provided the ideal modern backdrop for the evening celebrations. The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a quintessential “London moment” as they walked through Covent Garden to Ice Tank, with well-wishers and taxi drivers offering congratulations along the way.
